The bottom line is that Knoll owns the 'Trade Mark' - 'Barcelona Chair', therefor no other US based manufacturer, distributor or retailer can use the term Barceloan Chair to sell chairs. This has forced them to use an inventive range of names, some inspired by the shape and others by the Barcelona World Fair of 1929.
